What is Nutritional Therapy?Nutritional Therapy, from the Nutritional Therapy Association, approaches nutrition from a holistic perspective. Founded on the research of Weston A. Price and Dr. Francis A. Pottenger, Nutritional Therapy offers a clear alternative to the grain-based, low fat nightmare that has become the modern American diet. Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTP’s) teach the importance of properly prepared, nutrient dense, whole foods. These foods are delicious, nourish the body, and restore good health. Once foods are highly processed they loose the ability to be healthy, no matter what combination of carbohydrates, fats, and protein. A key philosophy of the NTP is that everyone is bio-individual. No one diet is perfect for everyone. This uniqueness can be explained through genetic make-up, different toxin exposures, and differing stages of “disEASE” which affects our body’s ability to process food for nutrients. Nutritional Therapists are trained to find the right nutrient dense whole foods that will help restore balance and promote the ability to heal.
